The Women’s Giving Fund at IECF has selected Moses House Ministries for a $5,000 grant this month! The funds will be used to support mothers and their families in the High Desert for basic needs such as food and diapers, and for the future reopening of the organization’s thrift store recently shut down because of the pandemic.

“I really truly believe that when my family was ending in a sense, I was welcomed into a new family at Moses House” said Bertha Miramontes, Program Director at Moses House Ministries.

Moses House, which is a two-time grantee of the Women’s Giving Fund, has been serving mothers with young children in the High Desert with programs that promote self-sufficiency since 1996. The organization’s vision is for all families to be hopeful about their future, passionate about their purpose, and actively engage in their community.

“We know that it’s been a tough year for nonprofits and being able to give support to Moses House means so much to the Women’s Giving Fund,” said Nefertiti Long, Board Secretary and Chair of the Women’s Giving Fund at IECF. “I also want to thank all of our donors who’ve supported the Fund because you are the reason that we are able to support organizations like Moses House.”

To date, the Women’s Giving Fund, through donor nominations and voting, has awarded $40,000 to programs benefitting women and their families in the Inland Empire. Past recipients of the Fund have included Purple Hearts, House of Ruth and Foothill Family Shelter.

“We are also grateful that this fund has grown, through the generous support of new donors, and we look forward to more events and outreach to bring more IE women into philanthropy,” said Ms. Long.
