After nearly two and a half years of dedicated service with IECF, John McGuirk, Giving Officer for the Coachella Valley, is set to retire this spring. He and his husband, Richard, will embark on an exciting new chapter in Bournemouth, England.

Brie Griset Smith, Chief Giving Officer, said, “During his impactful tenure at IECF, John worked hand-in-hand with major donors, fund holders, and nonprofit leaders throughout the Coachella Valley. His leadership and expertise were pivotal in launching the Build Coachella Valley Fund, which has already made significant strides in addressing regional needs like food insecurity. Additionally, John’s efforts led to the establishment of new scholarship funds, including the Brothers of the Desert Scholarship Fund, donor-advised funds, and testamentary planned gifts, leaving a lasting legacy that will benefit the community for years to come.”

While John’s presence and expertise will be deeply missed, we are grateful that he will continue to support IECF through March 2025, ensuring a smooth transition. Join us in extending our gratitude and very best wishes to John!
