How to Help Big Bear and Hemet Residents Affected by the Radford and Fairview Fires
Spreading across 450 acres (as of 9/6/2022), the Radford Fire is 0% contained at the time of this article, with road closures and evacuation orders in effect for areas of Big Bear.
Meanwhile, the deadly Fairview Fire has burned 2400 acres with 5% containment. Two fatalities and multiple structure losses have been reported. Evacuation orders are in place for areas of Hemet.
To support fire relief efforts in the Big Bear and Hemet areas, Inland Empire Community Foundation is accepting donations to:
Inland Empire Disaster Relief Fund – San Bernardino County
a fund established in 2019 by the Board of Directors to provide relief funds to those affected by disasters in San Bernardino County. Donations to the fund will be used to help residents impacted by the fires in Big Bear and surrounding communities.GIVE TODAY

Donors may also send checks made payable to Inland Empire Community Foundation with “Fairview Fire” or “Radford Fire” written in the memo line or make contributions from their donor-advised funds to either fund.

American Red Cross: A Care & Reception Center is open at Tahquitz High School (4425 Titan Trail, Hemet) to assist those affected by the Fairview Fire.
An evacuation center for people affected by the Radford Fire will be at Big Bear High School (351 Maple Lane, Big Bear) as of 1:30pm on 9/6/2022.
