Guide Dogs of the Desert, which holds an Agency Fund at IECF, is searching for Volunteer Puppy Raisers who are core to their program of raising and training Guide Dogs. Guide Dogs eventually go on to be placed with visually impaired students, providing them with confidence and independence.

Puppies are placed with volunteer Puppy Raisers between 8-12 weeks of age, and stay with our Raisers until he or she is 18-24 months old. With selfless commitment and support, Puppy Raisers are an integral part of the program that makes the missions of Guide Dogs of the Desert a reality.

As a volunteer Puppy Raiser, you help ensure love, companionship, and most importantly, independence for the visually impaired students through the use of a Guide Dog. Guide Dogs of Desert is there with you every step of the way with a combination of in-person trainings, zoom meetings, Puppy Raiser outings, and all the hand-holding you need.
